LEADERSHIP
LOUIS VERGES
Founding Partner, Lead Engineer
Louis Verges is a 1992 graduate from University of New Orleans with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In 1999, Louis earned his status as a registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana. Furthering his professional capabilities, he resumed his studies, and in 2001 became a licensed Master Plumber in Louisiana.
Louis grew up sweeping his dad’s sheet metal shop and watching the journeymen fabricate sheet metal. As a teenager, he spent his summers driving the delivery truck for the company. Upon graduation from UNO, Louis followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, by joining the HVAC/sheet metal family business. He served as a detailer and estimator, then project manager. Eventually, he became president/owner of the family mechanical contracting division.
Always looking to the future and wanting to further his knowledge, Louis trained in Revit. He found a new passion combining his knowledge of mechanical engineering and interest in computer science, 3D modeling. With his mechanical contracting experience and the emergence of technology in modern construction, Louis saw an opportunity to start BIM Solutions, LLC.
Louis resides in Louisiana with his wife, Amy, and their 3 children. He enjoys running, jet-skiing on the Tchefuncte River, paddle boarding in local bayous, and taking family vacations to the islands or “any beach by the ocean”!
MICHAEL VERGES
Founding Partner, Lead Coordinator
Michael graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1994. Upon graduation, Michael worked for Graves and Klein in Pensacola. He moved back home and finished his requirements for licensure at Morton/Verges in New Orleans. Michael passed the Architecture Registration Exam in 1999 becoming a Licensed Architect in the State of Louisiana. In 2019, he received his Architecture License in the State of Mississippi.
Michael grew up working in his father’s sheetmetal shop and making trips to the scrap yard. Later, he learned about fabricating and installing ductwork. Michael’s experience working for his father and working in CAD as an architect is what led him to his next step professionally. While understanding the benefits of the CAD process and the importance of technology in the construction industry, he approached his dad, in 1996, with the idea of bringing CAD to the sheetmetal business. With Mr. Verges in agreement, Verges Consultants, Inc. was quickly advanced into cutting edge technology.
Michael continued his quest in applying cutting edge technology in construction with the advent of BIM. With his expertise in architecture and the sheetmetal industry, knowledge in CAD, and now mastery of BIM, it was time to collaborate with Louis and form BIM Solutions, LLC.
Michael resides in South Louisiana with his wife and two sons. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching his son’s baseball games, beekeeping, and fishing the beautiful bayous of Louisiana. He hopes to one day actually catch one of those fish.
AMY VERGES
Partner, Director of Operations
Amy Verges is a third generation graduate from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. She received her B.A. in 1993 and M.A. in 1995. After graduation, Amy worked as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist at a New Orleans area hospital in the inpatient rehab unit. After 25 years of helping others regain communication and cognitive function, Amy decided to switch gears and use her communication and organization talents in operating BIM Solutions.
Once the operating principles and foundation of the company were established, Amy helped introduce BIM Solutions to the construction community labeling it as “more than a 3D Coordination company”. Promoting Louis and Michael’s mechanical contracting and construction experience were some of the keys to the company’s success helping to establish its potential in becoming a powerhouse in the virtual design and construction industry.
In her free time, Amy enjoys reading, writing a children’s book, and vacationing in the mountains. To continue her love of helping those recover from brain injuries, she is in the process of training her dog, Kalik, to become a therapy pet for the local Love On A Leash chapter, a nonprofit “dedicated to providing an avenue for volunteer pet therapy teams to participate in emotional support of others”.
